Mark your calendars!

The Carlson School of Management's First Tuesday Luncheon Series began in August 1992 to provide an opportunity for alumni and friends of the Carlson School to continue their management education. The First Tuesday Luncheon Series features top-notch executives as keynote speakers addressing hot topics in business and leadership.

Held on the first Tuesday of every month at the McNamara Alumni Center, the program attracts alumni and business leaders from throughout the corporate community, and has become an attractive spot for people in the metropolitan area to network.

Carlson Casino Royale

Alpha Kappa Psi was well represented at the first annual Carlson Casino Royale, with quite a few alumni and actives in attendance. Players earned chips playing blackjack and poker, and then were entered in a drawing for gift certificates to local restaurants and a plethora of Carlson logo merchandise.

I think the plan is to continue doing this as a part of Business Week every year, so hopefully more of you can make it out next year and get your gambling fix while doing some networking, networking, networking!

Actives win in broomball, 6-5, over Alumni

Back Row (L to R): Andrew Rowe, Max De Groen, Tony Black, Jon Pogue
Middle Row: Ryan Basballe, Chris Lund, Chad Crowley, Derek Holl, Dan Vogtman
Front Row: Nick Tobkin, Maria Mitova, Matt McEwen
It was a beautiful Saturday morning in January, perfect for the Alumni vs. Active Broomball Game. We had a great turnout this year with seven Alumni and seven Actives playing the game.

The Alumni started out with the edge due to the early morning start time and an early offensive charge. We started with a quick 2 to 0 lead, but that did not last long as the Actives began to wake up. Although we gave it our best shot, the quickness and stamina of the Actives gave them a 6 to 5 victory over the Alumni.

After the game, we gathered at the AKPsi house for pizza. We all had a great time and discussed that we should have many more Alumni vs. Active sporting events. Look for future emails about events that may include, but are not limited to: bowling, golf, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball. If you have any ideas for future events or want more information about these events, feel free to contact Tony Black via email at tonyjblack@gmail.com. I hope to see many more participants at our future events. Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s broomball game.

In U… and I…,

Tony Black
